If you are traveling to Indonesia, you need to know about one important change. Since September 2025, the old customs declaration form has been replaced by a new unified system called All Indonesia. Whether you are a foreign tourist flying into Bali or a returning Indonesian resident, you must complete this digital registration before you land. This guide will walk you through everything you need to know — step by step, in plain language.
The All Indonesia system is an official digital platform run by Indonesia's Directorate General of Immigration. It brings three separate entry requirements into one easy online form:
Before All Indonesia launched, travelers had to fill out multiple forms — sometimes on paper, sometimes through different apps. Now, everything is in one place. This makes arriving in Indonesia faster and simpler for everyone.
Official website: allindonesia.imigrasi.go.id
Everyone entering Indonesia must complete the All Indonesia registration. This includes:
There are no exceptions based on nationality or visa type. The registration is free of charge, so be careful of any third-party websites that charge a fee.
You must complete your All Indonesia registration up to 3 days (72 hours) before your arrival. You can submit the form as early as three days out and as late as just before you board your flight. After you submit, you receive a QR code sent to your email address. You will need to show this QR code to immigration and customs officers when you arrive. One QR code covers an entire travel group of up to 10 people.
Follow these steps to register before your trip to Indonesia:
The customs section asks you to declare specific goods. Here is what you must report:
| Category | Details |
| Cash / foreign currency | Amounts equal to or exceeding IDR 100 million (or equivalent) |
| Alcohol | More than 1 liter of alcoholic beverages |
| Tobacco | More than 200 cigarettes or 25 cigars or 100 grams of tobacco |
| Medicines | Personal medication in large quantities |
| Electronic devices | Mobile phones, laptops, or tablets purchased abroad (for IMEI registration) |
| Animals & plants | Any live animals, fish, plants, fruits, seeds, or their products |
| Prohibited goods | Firearms, explosives, narcotics, pornographic material |
| Commercial goods | Items in quantities beyond personal use |
If none of these apply to you, you simply declare "nothing to declare" and move through the green customs lane.
This is a common question, especially among tourists bringing new smartphones.
You can register your device IMEI at: beacukai.go.id/register-imei.html. After submission, you will receive a separate QR code to show at the Customs Checkpoint.
Once you land and collect your luggage, follow these steps:
The system is currently active at three major international airports: Ngurah Rai (Bali), Soekarno-Hatta (Jakarta), and Juanda (Surabaya), as well as international seaports in Batam. It has been rolling out nationally since October 2025.
The All Indonesia registration is just one part of your arrival checklist. There are several other things to prepare before you fly in. If you are planning to get around Bali independently after landing, understanding local laws and regulations in Bali is a smart move that will save you from unexpected problems.
For travelers planning to explore the island on two wheels, getting your International Driving Permit (IDP) is a legal requirement for all foreign riders — and you must arrange this before you leave your home country. Once you have your documents sorted, renting a scooter in Bali is one of the best ways to explore the island at your own pace.
If you are still in the trip-planning phase, check out our guide on the best time to visit Bali to choose the right season for your trip. And once you have your scooter ready, don't forget to read our guide on what to check before riding a motorcycle in Bali to stay safe on the road.
Many travelers make small errors that cause delays at the airport. Here is what to watch out for:
| Detail | Information |
| Official link | allindonesia.imigrasi.go.id |
| Who must register | All international arrivals |
| Cost | Free |
| When to register | Up to 72 hours before arrival |
| What you get | A QR code sent to your email |
| Valid airports | Bali, Jakarta, Surabaya, Batam (expanding nationally) |
| Replaces | Old e-CD customs form + SATUSEHAT health form + arrival card |
Once your All Indonesia registration is sorted and you've cleared customs, the real adventure begins. Bali is best explored on two wheels — and the easiest way to get started is to book your scooter in advance.
